Loopie For My Whoopie

Today I decided I was going to venture out and try baking something different!  I recently purchased a whoopie pie pan that I have been wanting to use.  Awhile back my friend Michelle and I were talking about when we would walk to the bakery after school.   Oh how I remember the smell of the bakery as soon as you opened the door! Michelle always went for  banana flips or a weird marshmallo-y log rolled in nuts.  My favorite were Hostess Chocolate Cupcakes.  You know the ones with the squiggly line going across it and the oh so yummy filling. Once we made our purchase we would go outside to the vending machine and buy a Cherry 7up.  We shared our soda and munched on our pastrys as we walked home.  Talk about sugar rush!!  So I thought I would try to recreate the flip and turn it into a whoopie pie.  I've been thinking about tweaking the recipe I am using, but my sister told me not to change anything!!  I have decided that I am going to embark on a Hostess Baking Journey! Stay tuned, maybe you will see a childhood favorite!
